Interpreting coverage of a fortified food requires contextual information on the total opportunity of fortified food in a population. Identifying the maximum opportunity of a fortified food in a population requires coverage of individuals or households that use the food (maximum potential beneficiaries), coverage of industrially processed food (maximum potential fortification of that food since non-industrially processed foods are difficult to fortify). This interactive chart displays this information in relation to each other in order to comprehensively interpret coverage of a fortified food. You can see the proportion of the total population consuming the food vehicle in question and the proportion of the total population consuming the fortified food vehicle in question. You may filter by income status, geographic region, country, and food vehicle. Country classifications of income status and region are from the World Bank and UN, respectively.
